About individual counselling

Person centred counselling is centred on the individual; who they are, what life they have experienced and what factors have brought them to where they are today.  Counselling gives time to allow each person to face and to explore how they can go forward. 

 

Counselling can be described as a way to:

 

  • Have someone to talk with to discuss personal problems.
  • Identify how to face, understand and explore the impact of the problem.
  • Examine any emerging patterns that impact you.
  • Examine how those problems (already being faced or newly emerging) affect how you relate to those around you, loved ones, family, friends.
  • Help you develop goals that are relevant & unique to help you identify your plan and understand what is the right way forward for you.
  • Help you assess your personal resources.
  • Learn tools and techniques for changing old patterns of behavior and implementing decisions and choices.
